Sound familiar?

Stuck at the same bottom time for years

You dive most weekends but your breath-hold hasn't budged since you started. More diving isn't fixing it — because the gains happen out of the water.

Burning through air before you reach the fish

Rushed descents, tension, and bad breathe-ups waste half your dive before the hunt even starts.

That blackout story in the back of your mind

Every spearo knows someone with a close call. Pushing harder without proper training is how those stories happen.

Trained to keep divers alive — not just dive deep

I'm Sebastian — Molchanovs freediving instructor and AIDA competition safety freediver. Safety divers are the people freediving competitions trust to catch athletes when things go wrong at depth. I bring that same obsession with safe, structured progression to your spearfishing.

A word on safety

Coaching improves your breath-hold — it never replaces the rules. Never dive alone. Never hyperventilate. One up, one down. If a coach tells you otherwise, run. Every program I write has safety built into its foundations, because I've seen firsthand what happens when it isn't.

Questions spearos ask

Do I need a pool or ocean access to train?

No. The entire program is dry training: breath-hold tables, breathing mechanics, relaxation and CO2 tolerance work — all done at home, seated or lying down, completely safe.

I've never done a freediving course. Is that a problem?

Not at all — most of my clients are self-taught spearos. We start from your current numbers, not from theory.

How fast will I see results?

Most divers feel calmer in the water within 2–3 weeks and see measurable bottom-time gains by week 6–8. We track everything, so you'll see the numbers move.

What if I'm not in New Zealand?

Everything is remote — calls, plans, footage review. I coach spearos anywhere with an internet connection.
